“Alcohol Is a Creepy Controller”

“Whether its too much to eat, drink, or smoke we’ve got to control what’s under our control before we lose control.” – #ToddCPittman

Yep, I Said It!

. . . and so did Proverbs 20:1 – (20) Wine produces mockers; alcohol leads to brawls. Those led astray by drink cannot be wise.

“Whenever we need a dose of straight to the point knowledge, all we have to do is turn to the metonymical wisdom in Proverbs 20, starting with the first verse. Now I know most of us have gotten our drink on before – you know what I’m talking about – that substance of choice when we need to take the edge off. Back in the day, my substance of choice was Captain Morgan’s Spiced Rum, but let’s remind each other not to let our substance of choice blind us from the substance in Proverbs 20:1. Look, whether we eat too much, drink too much, or we’re consumed by greed its all the sin of gluttony. So let’s not let those sins creep up and take control. We prevent the sin from controlling by PRACTICING control. We regain control from the sin by TAKING control. Either way, the key is to relate the sin to our relationship with God. Understand that whatever the sin – be it overindulgence of alcohol, food, drugs, whatever – we’ve got to know that it’s not just about our will power, but about how we view God and His work in our lives. Believe me, when we exercise gratefulness, gratitude covers many sins.” – #ToddCPittman
