“God’s love is a consistent energy supply. There’s no on and off switch. God’s love is stronger than any challenges we face.”– #ToddCPittman
Yep, I Said It!
…and so did Galatians 6:9 (NLT) “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
“Good deal! We made it to Day 2 of our 7 Day workout to strengthen ourselves to endure and prepare for hard times. The scriptures remind us today that just because we mess up God doesn’t love us any less. When we make a mistake that puts us in a jacked-up situation, we can’t get down on ourselves. No way my friend! What we have to do is lean on the strongest thing in our lives and that’s GOD’S CONSISTENT LOVE! That means telling ourselves that there is no lie we can tell, no law we can break, no drug we can abuse, and no simple mistake we can make that will change God’s immense love for us. We can’t worry about what others think about us and what they say during hard times. When things get tough we don’t need to lean on anyone that does not know God because if they don’t know Him, they can’t know us. So during our challenging circumstances let’s avoid the pity parties, stop playing the blame game, and let’s pick ourselves up and remember God’s love is not superficial but a consistent source of internal strength. When we learn from our mistakes and take cover in His love during our storms it is my testimony He will bring joy where there is pain.” – #ToddCPittman
“No emotional pain, no spiritual gain. Let’s not let the difficulty of our circumstances weaken us.” – #ToddCPitttman
Yep I Said It!
…and so did Isaiah 43:2 (NLT) “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.”
“We’re about to go through a seven-day workout together and training starts right now! Whether we are trying to make it through a difficult season at this very moment, or we need to get our spiritual workout on for the drama that’s about to come, on this first day of training we are going to strengthen our minds to recognize that no matter how hard times are, God will carry us through. Who needs protein powder to strengthen our muscles when the scriptures remind us that ain’t no water deep enough, no river long enough, nor no fire hot enough to take away the power of God in our lives! Every financial struggle we face, every employment challenge we battle, every health condition we conquer, even every addiction relapse we experience is preparing us to be stronger. On this first day of training let’s recognize that He uses our challenges in life to produce greater strength and enduring faith. But we have to allow that production to occur and we do that by telling ourselves that our pain has a purpose…we just have to stop wasting energy wondering why – THAT WASTED ENERGY MY FRIEND, IS WHAT MAKES US WEAK!” – #ToddCPittman
“Sometimes the company we keep can be a roadblock. Let’s not let people in our circle fill us with negative vision leading to a roadblock in destiny walk.”– #ToddCPittman
Yep I Said It!
…and so did Titus 3:10 (NKJV) – “Reject a divisive man after the first and second admonition,”
“If we find ourselves around folk who constantly see the negative in everyone and in every circumstance, let’s not let that blur our vision. We need to see the good and share that vision with those around us. If those around us still continue to never be able to see the good then – Hey, just like Paul broke it down to Titus in today’s scripture – its time to say GOODBYE! Look, there are times when all of us will have to tolerate negative folks, but when we find ourselves consistently around people who focus on other people’s faults and like to breed decisiveness, then we need to be careful not to follow them down a self-destructive path. If we find ourselves in that position, surrounded by doubters or those who bring the question to the goodness of life that’s in store for us, that is the time my friend for us to turn from their negative attitude and shift our focus toward the dependence of nothing but the Word of God.” – #ToddCPittman
“No matter where we are in our faith, doubt always seems to find a place to chill. Instead of doubting God’s promises, let’s start doubting our doubts.”– #ToddCPittman
Yep, I Said It!
…and so did Romans 10:17 (NKJV) – “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
“We may want to believe in God’s promises for our lives, but no matter how strong our faith it seems doubt always seems to creep in. The scriptures this morning reminded me that the key to defeating doubt is with doubt. In other words, let’s doubt that irrational voice of doubt and instead let’s have confidence in hearing God’s Word. Check this out – I have a member of my wonderful MARC Commuter Train family who can recite a Migos rap tune with enthusiasm, energy, and without doubt he believes every word coming out his mouth is lyrically correct. Man, imagine if we took in the scriptures with that same enthusiasm and without doubt that every verse was spiritually correct! Look man, when we are hungry we eat. When we are sick we seek medicine – and we do it all without doubt! So without a doubt let’s remind each other that God’s Promises are nourishment for our growth and medicine for our souls. So let’s doubt the doubter and surrender to the Lord with confidence our issues, problems, and fears. Believe me, its the doubt that clouds our clarity to peace and blurs our vision for prosperity!” – #ToddCPittman
“We’ve got to let go of our weaknesses. The devil will keep us down and depressed if we keep ourselves in a weak position.” – #ToddCPittman
Yep, I Said It!
…and so did Matthew 4:2-3 “2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. 3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”
“We all know that when anything is weak it is more susceptible to defeat and what we need to accept is that we tend to hold onto ways and actions that keep us in weak positions. Just like Jesus was attacked after He was weak from fasting for 40 days and 40 nights – we too open the door for our enemies to attack when we are weak from the enablers we won’t release from our lives. I’m talking about addictions, overeating, pornography, and even mistruths no matter how big or small will all bring us to our lowest physical and/or emotional points one way or another! Let’s not let the devil keep his grasp on us. Let’s let go of those enablers, put on our body armor, and watch His Power prove there’s nothing to hard for God. We’ve just gotta let go!” – #ToddCPittman
“We might second guess, but He already knows. We’ve got to show our trust in Him, even when things don’t go as planned.” – ToddCPittman
Yep, I Said It!
…and so did Matthew 1:20 (NKJV) – “But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, ‘Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.”
“This morning I thought about how confused Joseph must have been when he planned to take Mary as his wife and then found out she was pregnant. It wasn’t until that messenger from God reassured Joseph that he was on the right path that He was able to rest. We have all been confused and at times wondering if we are making the right decisions. When we start feeling overwhelmed by our decisions, let’s be reassured that God knows just where we are and how to get us where we need to be. If we feel moved by the spirit to make a choice, to make a decision, let’s not second guess it. Instead, let’s cast all our fears and replace them with trust. We’ve got to trust that God will lead us in the right direction. But hey, we have to have a relationship with Him to be able to follow His lead. So let’s strengthen that relationship and trust that He won’t fail!” – #ToddCPittman
“Each of us is a leader in our own way to our own audience. A leader is strong, courageous, and is trusting in the Lord.”– #ToddCPittman
Yep, I Said It!
…and so did Joshua 1:9 (NKJV) – “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
“When Joshua was tasked with leading the children of Israel into the promised land, they had been wandering in the wilderness for 40 years. The same words of comfort and encouragement the Lord provided to Him in Joshua 1:9 are the same words that should refresh our souls and renew our minds today. Look, we all have to be a leader at some point in our lives. Whether we lead by example for our family members, lead by strategy for our business colleagues, or lead through guidance to those close to us that are battling their personal demons – we have to be strong and courageous and part of that means trusting the Lord. I don’t know about you but in the past, I’ve had to battle my own demons and sometimes we have to minister to ourselves. No matter what the situation, we become great leaders when we ask for answers to our personal challenges. I’ve learned that when I turn to the Lord for guidance, success comes my way because He has the answers I need. Let’s stop thinking we know it all and have all the answers and let’s start prayerfully seeking His direction in guiding our children, strengthening our relationships, battling our addictions, and stewarding our financial gifts. Let’s ask Him to work on us so we can lead by example. Someone is always watching.” – #ToddCPittman
“We cannot let our hurts of yesterday stop life today. If I can write and you can read, God’s not done with us yet.” – #ToddCPittman
Yep, I Said It!
…and so did Proverbs 19:23 (NKJV) – “The fear of the Lord leads to life, And he who has it will abide in satisfaction; He will not be visited with evil.”
“Someone needs to hear this today, so I’m gonna say it: POINT BLANK, STUFF HAPPENS. True testament, it’s time to let it go. Relationships fail, jobs are lost, health takes some turns, and finances go up and down. But that shouldn’t cause us to settle where we are and lose our joy. Nah man, we’ve got to keep it movin’! We were not created to flourish, have a setback, and then die out. We were created with a purpose and that purpose is to flourish according to He’s Will and weather any storm that comes our way so we can live out all our God-given days with joy and passion! If you were with me last week, on Thursday the scriptures reminded us in John 16:33 that this thing called Life wasn’t going to be a smooth ride and problems along the way are promised. BUT, if we keep pressing forward and stay in the game – I’m a witness – not only will He bring us out, but He will bring us out better than we were before! Hey, if He has never given up on us, why would we give up on ourselves?” – #ToddCPittman
“We need to first understand what He interprets as good. Don’t let our selfishness misinterpret God’s expected outcome.”– #ToddCPittman
Yep, I Said It!
…and so did Romans 8:28 (NKJV) – “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
“One of the most used and misinterpreted bible verses is Romans 8:28. The misinterpretation is that when the scriptures promise ‘all things work together for good’ too many of us think this means a big house, nice car, and a fat bank account. Let’s not get it twisted. When it comes to certain circumstances, the term ‘good’ doesn’t necessarily mean we will personally be happy with the outcome or we won’t feel any pain, or we will come out on top financially. You see, ‘together for good’ does not always end up with our desire for what we think is the best outcome. The reality is that the ‘good’ is the experience we gain and grow through that will ultimately glorify us in eternity. The bottom line is the GOOD is when we are serving His purpose! So, whether a situation brings us pain or brings us suffering – let’s learn from it, grow through it, and let’s take comfort in the outcome knowing that no suffering or waiting we endure is wasted and it DOES have a meaningful purpose.” – #ToddCPittman
“Each day we rise is a gift of peace and joy. We can open that gift and enjoy it or leave it in a box to be stolen.”– #ToddCPittman
Yep, I Said It!
…and so did Psalm 90:12 (NKJV) – “So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
“My, my, my, it’s 3:30 am raining, cold, and once again I’m getting ready to face the commute and grind of Washington, D.C. and guess what…IT’S A GREAT DAY TO BE ALIVE! Every day we rise it’s a gift from God that includes peace and joy. What we do with that gift is up to us. We can choose to receive it with faith and gratitude or we can choose to reject it with doubt and joylessness. The scriptures remind us that if we choose to turn away our daily special gift, there are plenty of ways the enemy will creep in and steal our peace and joy, and man I used to get robbed daily! So, believe me, the next time that driver cuts us off or our co-workers aren’t pulling their weight, let’s remember how fragile life is and instead of cussin’ folks out, let’s open that gift of peace and joy. Remember, it’s a gift from God and once we receive it with faith and gratitude NOBODY can take it away! So let’s choose to focus on the blessings of each and every moment today instead of allowing those little things to steal our peace and joy. Ayo, I’m tryin’ to tell yah, IT’S A GREAT DAY TO BE ALIVE!” – #ToddCPittman
