Yep, I Said It!
…and so did John 15:15 (NLT)- I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.
“We all have our Partners in Crime, our Dawgs, our BFFs, our Fam, our Ace Boon Coons, and even our Homies but let’s not define those friendships as we define our friendship with Jesus. Nah man, our friendship with Jesus is not one of equals. This ain’t no ’give me some dap’ type of friendship – YEP, I SAID IT! – because Jesus is, and always will be, our King of Kings! There’s no doubt that the scriptures remind us that He invited us to the table to be His friend but we have to remember that’s in the concept of a servant versus a friend. You see, even though we serve the Lord, unlike a typical servant relationship He welcomes us anytime – not just when there is something for us to do. And unlike a typical servant relationship, His Word does not just tell us what to do but through the ministry, we are taught why we should do it! My, my, my, I’m so glad that we serve a Lord that does not require us to just bring food to the table, but He is a friend that will invite us to take a seat and eat with Him! Let’s remember that there is nothing we go through alone because we have a friend that knows the unknown and understands the misunderstood.” – #ToddCPittman
