“We Were Set Up!”

“For many folks, the words ‘I was set up’ has a negative connotation, but let’s not follow that thought pattern. The scriptures remind us that we were set up before we were even formed in our mother’s womb. We are reminded that we were set up to succeed, set up to win, and we are provided the tools to battle against addictions, lust, deception, and other things that lead us down a path to nowhere. The debate sometimes associated with this reminder is that if we were set up for success then can’t we just sit back and chill? No way! Predestined does not mean a guaranteed outcome! You see, God knows the anointed outcome He has placed on our lives, but we have the free will to bring that outcome to fruition, He will not force it. So when we face roadblocks during our destiny walk let’s remember that we have the free will to either make the choice to give in to that addiction, violate our relationships, or deceive others to get what we want – or we can choose to be better students of understanding His wisdom and His way. Point blank, we can choose the latter and receive His illumination of the path to our destiny or we can continue to make the same choices on our own understanding and stumble deeper into more disappointment and disobedience.
